There will be a meeting at 8.30 a.m. to-morrow at the Conference Room to decide what parts we can release as a result of the 15,000 miles just completed. The proposal is that the Works should make 50 B.V. motor-cars next year, and they are anxious to get as many jigs and tools going as possible. We have pointed out that we did not promise to release material until March next year, and we shall, in consequence, be unable to guarantee that the material released is not altered. If, however, the Administration are prepared to take a chance in order to get production forward, we will issue an advanced specification with this object in view. It should be appreciated that while we wish to get as many economical parts as we can on B.V., it is not proposed to sell this chassis at less than the existing Bentley chassis figure. This means that we play safe in every case where a less costly part has not been fully proved. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} | ||
