In reply to your memo CJ3/IW21615, we wish to report as follows. -

Chassis 7CA

At the present time we have only two experimental cars at the Works - 7CA and 1926 - and for this reason Mr Haldenby suggests that we should retain 7CA because it is the only car that we have fitted with double rear brakes, and it is now being fitted with an R.R. Self-Starter, and is actually the only experimental car that we have which is anything like up to date.

Chassis 49GB.

The completion of this car has been delayed due to alterations that have very recently been instructed, the steering has been altered for the second time and also the side lever mechanism.

We have also had to fit a new Speedometer Drive because the Elliott speedometer that was purchased for this car was not calibrated correctly for the ratio of our drive, and being unable to change this for one that would suit our drive, has compelled us to re-design our drive, this involves making special pattern and casting which has to be machined, together with 2 gear wheels.

Mr Royce also requires Zephyr pistons on this
