X7520. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/14.6.32. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} P.2. SHOCK DAMPERS WITH AUTOMATIC CONTROL. With reference to R2/M31.5.32. we send herewith N. schemes 3466/70 shewing the arrangement of automatic control for the shock dampers mentioned therein. It will be seen that there is a slight modification to the change lever bracket, and we have also found it necessary to alter the hand brake. N. sch. 3470 shews a method of retaining oil in the gearbox and in the damper control reservoir by means of a double screw thread. We suggest that it would be desirable to use this method in an experimental set. We also wish to increase the capacity of the reservoir, and on N. sch. 3470. have indicated how we think the R.H. wall should be extended. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
