Mr. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Platford -2- March 22, 1923. We would like very much to do everything in our power in order to convince you fully of the merits of our product, and we would be very glad to receive a suggestion from you as to what should be the next step in this matter. The application has to be made by ourselves, but perhaps it would be quite feasible to send you a catalysed cylinder head to England for the purpose of any investigation that you might care to conduct personally. Naturally, if the matter is taken up on a production basis, there would be no difficulty whatever in having Katalite applied to Rolls-Royce engines in England or in America either by our own organization or by someone of your own staff to whom we would teach the process. I am enclosing for your information a copy of our latest booklet and of several testimonials and tests made by outside parties. The increase of 70% in mileage stated in the testimonials reprinted in our booklet is undoubtedly due to very exceptional conditions (very frequent interruptions in running, necessitating very frequent starting of the engine, etc.), but we have actually obtained, on a very exact test in which the mixture was leaned down on the regular head as far as it was possible without backfiring and spitting of the engine, an increase in mileage of approximately 50%. This test was made in a very accurate manner with a small auxiliary fuel tank which was allowed to run dry, both with the regular and the catalysed head. Thanking you for your interest in this matter, and hoping to hear from you soon, we remain Yours very truly, KATALITE CORPORATION. per Edward Sokal Edw.Sokal-EMC | ||
