8340 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.24/AP.16.11.36. STEAM VALVE FOR 35-EX. RADIATOR. As the radiator for 35-EX. has not yet been built up and the fact that the 4 port heads will be run on this car permits us to dispense with a steam valve, we wish you to build up the matrix unit for this car as follows:- 1. Lightened matrix which has been handed to the Shop. 2. Standard bottom tank. 3. Top tank and fittings standard except for modifications shewn on SK.5026 attached - this consists of the modification to the steam valve base shewn on LeC.5154 and in addition deletes the steam valve, and valve in filler cap etc. as shewn. The only new piece required is the aluminium tower and the lengthened valve outlet. The radiator will have the Design scheme for bracing at rear of the matrix as previously instructed.
