"HERON" FRONT WHEEL BRAKES. X 9940

Please receive N.Sch. 1352 shewing the carrier lever for the front brake operating rods with pneumatic brakes.

We have somewhat lightened the fork and the eye of the lever as compared with those on N.Sch. 1329, as these rods have only half the load. The eye of the front brake operating levers on the differential shafts of N.Sch. 1329 should be slightly reduced to correspond.

It will be seen that bosses are required on the crankcase arm, but if you very much desire to use an existing crankcase, there is no doubt it could be done by adding a packing piece.

This drawing also shews the new engine feet. That on the left hand is caused by the narrow frame, but is otherwise standard. The right hand one is also shorter due to the narrow frame, and in addition has a new position of the pad for the steering box, to suit the raised steering. We have continued the use of these feet in cast mild steel because it does not seem worth while to procure forgings for this chassis which will be so comparatively soon replaced by "Seagull". As far as the left hand is concerned it is possible that existing castings may be used as the difference is only about .1" in length.
