Dear Sir, At the forthcoming International Car Show we shall be shewing our special 6 cylinder Magneto with a range of 50 degrees angle of advance and retard, and trust we may have the pleasure of a call from you at our stand No.488, White City. In the meantime, we should very much like to send you a sample for testing purposes, without any engagement on your part to purchase, if you will permit us to do so. We are, of course, aware that Rolls-Royce stands for all that is best in the Motor Car world, and we believe our speciality would interest you both from the point of workmanship and also the special characteristic of wide range of advance and retard, which enables a heavy, high-powered Car to pull easily and smoothly on top gear at 3 miles an hour. Our distinctive feature is not obtained by departing from more or less standard Magneto construction, but by the addition of an auxiliary device in the pole shoes for which we have been granted full letters patent. In conclusion, and if you are good enough to accept a sample, we are quite prepared for you to endeavour to break it down, in fact, subject the same to the stringent test we know you are in the habit of employing with all apparatus and material We should state in closing, that the sample would be placed at your disposal entirely free, of any responsibility or engagement.
