My dear Sidgreaves, The two Rolls-Royces I have now are my 77th and 78th cars. With the various cars I have owned, I thought I had had most of the pleasure and thrills that were to be got in motoring. After a day in the 3 1/2 litre Rolls-Royce Bentley, I find that there is a new form of motoring before us. Never have I been in such a car for acceleration and speed with refinement and silence. The steering, braking, springing, road holding and safety at speed are such as no other car has ever come within sight of approaching. Most of our running was between 60 and 80 m.p.h. and we (4 of us) were all of the opinion that the car at these speeds was safer than the average car driven at 40 m.p.h. The feeling of great safety and comfort was the predominant impression, and after a long fast run, none of us were in the least tired or had headaches etc. I do congratulate you on this car, it is some-thing quite apart from all others and those who have not been in a Rolls-Royce Bentley cannot be said ever to have really motored. Yours sincerely, (Sgd.) G.R.N. Minchin. | ||
