We must always cut in at 15 M.P.H. We must have current enough to maintain all the running demands at all speeds above 25 M.P.H. I think it wrong to have such a definite falling characteristic because the high speed man has the most powerful lamps, and he must maintain his lighting up to 60 M.P.H. I think the 3rd. brush position can be improved - i.e. if it is 'minus' it should be nearer the main 'minus' to maintain the characteristic. It only seems important to reduce the current if this is too heavy for the battery when no lighting is used. With reduced current we must not cut in late, therefore the resistance should not be in the field. I suggest the increase of current might be obtained by making the headlamp a series winding.
