BENTLEY CHASSIS 56.BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} - REAR AXLE.

In accordance with Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}19/m.20.9.38. the rear axle from the above car has been dismantled for inspection, and the near side axle shaft GB.1379 was found to have fractured - see photograph attached.

It should, however, be noted that this type of axle shaft is obsolete and has been replaced by the latest strengthened type of shaft of the same piece number.
