X.2748 Extract from B'6/P291118. RE 1000 45/50 H.P. CHASSIS. (9) PISTONS. As the pistons have always been a very considerable source of trouble, until we have definitely thrashed out a new type, and same is agreed to as being an improvement, I have arranged to carry on with the pre-war piston and connecting rod (This rod is being machined all over), in order to do this and allow of an early change, I have ordered up only 250 sets of pistons and connecting rods, but if you consider that this policy is wrong and will wire me that you do not consider the connecting rod forgings should be ordered at present I will act accordingly, but it appears to me we should be moving on all the jigs for each part or item on the chassis and that any modification should not be brought in by holding up parts at present, but by merely ordering a small number of parts wherever a suggested modification is being considered. | ||
