The regulations for the use of General Trade Plates and Limited Trade Licences for vehicles.

GENERAL TRADE PLATES.

Can be used for any purpose in connection with the business of a Manufacturer or Repairer of, or Dealer in mechanically propelled vehicles by the holder of such licence, and whilst being so used may be used for any other or further use -

EXCEPT (1). for the conveyance of passengers for profit or reward, or

(2). on any vehicle which is not in our possession in the course of our business as manufacturers, repairers of, or dealers in mechanically propelled vehicles.

LIMITED TRADE LICENCES.

Can be used for -

(1). test or trial during or immediately after construction or repair.

(2). test or trial for prospective purchaser.

(3). delivery to purchaser, railway station or wharf, coachbuilder other manufacturer, repairer or dealer, store or puction room.

(4). to and from public weighbridge or registration office.

(5). for towing a vehicle from where it has broken down to Repair Shop,

BUT

(a). not more than two persons in addition to the driver, to be carried, except on Sundays, Bank-Holidays, Christmas Day and Good Friday, when the driver only can travel on the vehicle.

(b). No load to be carried except ballast (scrap etc) for testing the vehicle, such load to be brought back to its loading place.

(c). An entry of all runs to be made in the Register and duplicate entries of the register to be carried on the vehicle.

(d). The exceptions (1) and (2) above relative to General trade licences also apply to Limited trade licences.
