Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/TMW. EFC2/T11.1.21. X-4291 RE DIMMING DEVICE FOR HEAD LAMPS. X 1357 With reference to your note Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/C-10.1.21, we attach copies of previous correspondence we have had on this matter. You will see by my note that I consider the simplest and best alround method of doing this is to connect the head lamps in series. I, therefore, propose obtaining a double pole two-way switch which can be used as a series parallel switch, and fitting this to one of our experimental cars for trial. If this be found to be satisfactory then no doubt a suitable series parallel switch could be designed for operation on the dash at the side of the Lucas switchbox. The only alteration to the wiring will be to connect the ends of the head lamp cables to this switch and provide two other connections from the switchbox also to this switch, but no interference with the remainder of the wiring will be caused.
