SPRINGFIELD.

Analyzing those parts suggested not to be imported, you will see that they consist largely of the class of parts which Springfield,,as a self supporting Maintainence Department, for Silver Ghost and P-I cars, must be prepared to supply for many years, in addition to wheels,tyres, battery and coachwork, with all needful fittings and accessories.

Also such parts as bonnet, road springs, radiator, instruments, etc, are frequently subject to variation or adjustment to suit customers' requirements and it is highly desirable that we should remain capable of supplying them promptly and efficiently.

SUGGESTED ACTION.

The above suggestion must not be taken as final in form. But by careful analysis along these lines, both Sir Henry Royce's first principles can be satisfied, and we can arrive at substantial savings in the selling price.

NOTES.

We believe it is highly important that a careful study should be made both by Derby and ourselves on this matter of the "obvious economies" ( on both P-II and 20/25) as otherwise the American market is not open in any profitable volume.

The statement has been made that the market must be here because it existed in 1914 - 1918.
