Kingsbury. 2nd Dec. 1936. Bentley Radiator Shutters. A point that Kingsbury has brought to my attention is replacement of the slats in the shutters due to accidents. In very few cases the new slats received from the Works fit, and two great a gap and uneven line at the top is the result. This is due to individual fitting of slats to each radiator. To over come this could not the Depots have a small stock of lengths of slats, so that they could fit and shape them to the original radiator. This would save time and ease the situation at the Depots. There is a case at the moment where it was necessary to change three slats owing to an accidents and those received from the Works for replacement are approx. 1/8" short, having been cut back more than is generally usual.
