BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/for Mr. Brock. X.4079. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG16. 2.23. IGNITION COILS. During our last visit to W.W. we took up the question with R.{Sir Henry Royce} of using the square base for the ignition coils in the wheelcase position. R.{Sir Henry Royce} said that he was quite in agreement with using the square base so long as we can make a satisfactory coil with either bakelite or mouldensite. The new design of coil was only intended if we were forced to use stabalite. This also applies to the 40/50 as long as we can prove the mouldensite coil is satisfactory, we can use the square base.
