We therefore see that, taking the valve, cotters etc. as 1 piece we have 40% more pieces on the B.I.W. head than on the Bentley.

(6) Tappet Noise. - The main disadvantage we can see to this type of head is the complication of parts, and the fact that the expansion of the horizontal push rod will not be adequately compensated for by the expansion of the head, and the valve gear will probably be very noisy.
