E.7/HP. 20th October 1933. Messrs. S.U. Co., Bordesley Green Road, Adderley Park, BIRMINGHAM. Dear Sirs, re S.U. Pumps for Bentley. ------------------------- Referring to the modification to the contact covers on the Bentley petrol pumps for carrying fuses, we now send you herewith blueprint DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}435 shewing the scheme we propose to use. In this design you will notice that the moulded cover is no longer than the present one up to the main wall constituting the end of its cylindrical shape, but has a boss moulded on for carrying the fuse and cable terminal, and this cover will fit on to the standard pump provided a longer screw is built up in to the contact plate for holding the cover on. We should like this cover to be made of the same brown moulding material that we use for our coil case and distribution board so that the colours will match. In the end outside elevation on DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 435 is shewn the position of the terminal as it will come with the contact blade mounted vertically on the chassis. We should like these contact blades to be vertical for the sake of the rocker mechanism of the pump and so that the working of the contacts can be observed to the best advantage. This is a question of the location of the screw holes in the pump body flange relative to the holes for the fixing screws securing the contact plate. | ||
