Recommending a driving route from Derby to Leeds.

With reference to your proposed visit to Leeds I recommend the following route:-

Derby to Nottingham. Take the Arterial road just before entering Nottingham on the Derby-Nottingham road. This Arterial road is more or less a by-pass going round the outside of Nottingham. Follow it round until you reach the Mansfield-Ollerton branch. Go out on this road until it forks right to Ollerton, then go through to Ollerton, Worksop, Doncaster.

From Doncaster there are two alternative routes to Leeds, either via Pontefract or Knottingley. We are not familiar with the present state of the roads and suggest that you make enquiries in Doncaster. The distance from Doncaster to Leeds is only about 28 miles.
