essrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. 18/7/29. 2. way of dealing with the installation of these gauges on your chassis. To elaborate matters further, it is inevitable that the coachbuilder will require to remove the dash board instrument in any dummy facia in which it may be fitted when the chassis is delivered to him. He will therefore undo the air lines at their front ends and probably leave them coupled at the back ends. This will wet the air lines, and unless fully serviced before despatch, the gauge will go out and not give satisfaction to your customers. We believe that there is Works information from your Experimental department to the effect that it is essential that chassis delivered to Coachbuilders should be left uncoupled at both ends prior to final issue of the finished car. We have assisted your Finished Car Department, as a temporary measure, by sending them two dozen sets of plugs and caps for chassis which we understand from them are to-day being delivered to them all coupled up and going to Coachbuilders. These require to be uncoupled and capped off prior to despatch in order that the coachbuilders may have complete access to the dash board instrument and other parts without deranging the gauges. Yours faithfully, H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} HOBSON, LTD., Sales Manager. | ||
