-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KT 21.9.32. - giving approximately 222º inlet and exhaust duration from the completion of the "toe". We suggest that two new cam forms are made. (1) As above, with the lift lost on our temporary camshaft restored and the toe carefully treated to get the quieter valve operation with the .007 permitted. (2) A second cam form similar to (1) but with the duration reduced to 216º. We know that cam-forms (1) will give us about 68 B.H.P. at 4250 r.p.m. and with this camshaft have lapped Brooklands at 73 m.p.h., so that it can be considered a fair compromise. These camshafts are urgent as we are not producing any more to the existing forms for the time being. The timing we anticipate using with the shortest duration cam is :- 013 TAPPET CLEARANCE SHORT TOE [Diagram Text] R EX IN 34 32 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
