Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} 4/JH.21.3.39. WRAITH. New type exhaust system deleting front Expansion box. In reply to Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} 8/MG.16.3.39. we have noted the remarks re the stretching of the 1/2" bolts securing the downtake pipe to the manifold, and we have fitted a new set of bolts to 25.G.VI. car, and will report on their condition in due course. These bolts have been numbered and carefully measured for length prior to fitting. With regard to the sagging of the front end of the rear silencer, and the reduction of clearance in the hole in the cross, we consider this to be most important and are keeping a watch on our cars which have similar systems and mountings.
