1204. BY.1/H.16.4.37. PHANTOM III. STARTER MOTOR. Re: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst.1/AP.2.4.37. -------------------------- The following features are to be instructed immediately for production :- (1). A brake was to be fitted on the armature to bring it to rest quickly when thrown out of gear. (2). Air damper was to be deleted from the armature end. (4). Pinion with longer teeth to be fitted. (6). Modification to the shape of the engaging teeth of the pinion and flywheel. Experimental Dept. were given three days to cancel this, otherwise it goes through. (3)& These are washed out completely, as there appears to (5). be no particular necessity for same.
