3rd. November 1937.

For the attention of Mr.Leslie Kent.

Dear Sirs,

We are in receipt of your letter of the 1st. inst. We appreciate your remarks about tightening up the limits on the length of the core. However, we do not intend to make any alterations with regard to the length of stroke of the H.P. pump for production until we have completed exhaustive tests on it. Accordingly we are having two units machined to your latest drawing which we would like you to build up as you suggest, that is with (1) Increased stroke using a rectangular trunnion and standard pump bridge piece.

(2) Solid terminal.

(3) Modified flange and step position.

As these units will only be used experimentally they can be sent separately and not fitted to a body. We will despatch them to you in a day or two.

The alteration we are waiting for and want as soon as possible, is the increased length of the step on the armature spindle to ensure the fibre washer does not fall between the armature and pole piece when it is apt to stop the pump. Will you please let us know when you will be able to supply pumps with this modification.
