1029 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/MH.{M. Huckerby} 28th. September, 1939. A.F.Martindale, Esq., 11, Manor Place, Holywell, OXFORD. Dear Martindale, Many thanks for your letter. We are carrying on with the small car. I wonder whether you can find time to give us a brief specification of what you consider the brake set-up for this car should be. We presume you want us to have mechanical rear, hydraulic front. You have already agreed no servo. We are not sure what you feel about the 2-leading shoe brake. With regard to drum dimensions, we know you want a reasonable size now that we have done away with the servo. Will you be satisfied with a 10" drum ? Regarding the mechanical-cum-hydraulic linkage, I have rather leanings towards the Girling cylinder incorporated in the pedal. What do you feel about this ? You will be pleased to hear that we have managed to keep the Design side going. Yours sincerely, | ||
