X.8650 EFC4/T5.3.25. VERSION 1. X.8781. COMBINED MAIN SWITCH & RELAY SWITCH X.8650. UNIT. EAC II. SPECIFICATION OF PRODUCTION INSPECTION, ADJUSTMENT & TEST. I. MAIN SWITCH UNIT. (1) Place a .020" non-magnetic distance piece between core and armature stop. Apply voltage to coil so that this distance piece is held fast. Then adjust and secure laminated copper contacts so that every lamination is just in contact with the plain copper contact. (2) It should now be checked that with the switch in the "off" position, the mean gap of the copper contacts is .080 +5 -5 (3) Now adjust the relation of the copper and carbon contact arms until with the carbons held just in contact the mean gap of the copper contacts is .025+10 -5 (4) Gaps should then all be according to the following table :- Position of Switch. Core to Armature stop. Copper gap. Carbon gap. Off. .066+3 -3 .080+5 -5 .080+10 -25 Carbons just in contact. .031+6 -2 .025+10 -5 0 Coppers just in contact. .020 0 0 Contd. | ||
