Replying to your letter of the 16th inst. the writer is aware that varying charges have been made for the various sample Thermostats supplied to you. We can assure you that these charges have been made in accordance with the Factory cost to us, and although the job as supplied in appearance is a standard job, the fact still remains that they have been specially made up in our Experimental Department, in an unassembled state, and time has had to be spent in getting the necessary settings. It is understood, however, that in the event of you placing a contract with us we are prepared to reduce these prices to the contract rate, which we think you will agree is a fair way of dealing with the matter. We feel sure you will appreciate that this form of experimental work is expensive. In regard to the two (2) Thermostats which we supplied, and which you quite rightly state were supplied on our own initiative, we are quite prepared to let you have these two (2) units on loan account in which case you can return them to us after you have completed your experiments and the loan account will be cancelled.
