IM/AMF 31st March, 1928. Colonel Fell, D.S.O. c/o Messrs.Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Colonel Fell, I learn from friend Emtage that His Majesty has been robbed of your services and that you have joined Messrs. Rolls Royce in a technical capacity. I have had the temerity to wonder for some time whether there would be any possibility of getting the 'Solex' tested at Derby, and your installation there tempts me to take advantage thereof and ask you if any such prospects are feasible, or whether such ambitions are merely of the cheeky order and are to be treated accordingly. I am aware, of course, that something quite special would have to be provided before Messrs.Rolls Royce would ever consider such a course, but, I would hasten to assure you that this can easily be done. We make a special carburettor for Hispano Suiza, and, apart from that we have now a new type of 'Solex' which CUSTOMERS' CARS ARE ONLY DRIVEN BY OUR STAFF AT OWNERS' RISK. | ||
