1247? Rml/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 31st May, 1938. F.{Mr Friese} Gaye, Esq., P.O. Box 1, Chertsey Road, SUNBURY ON THAMES. Dear Gaye, Many thanks for the pamphlets on variable load suspension. I do not know whether you have studied the arrange-ment at the front end of our P.III cars, but by means of a very simple modification this permits of a variable rate system. We have tested out the variable rate, but have not adopted it. One of our problems is the large variation in the spring load. If four passengers get into the back of the car fitted with variable rate suspension, which gives a very low rating about the normal running position, then the height of the car is likely to alter enormously. Come and see us if you are up this way ? Yours sincerely, | ||
