Wot/Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}12/L26614. Sheet. 2 this run but was still running freely. It was removed and taken to pieces. Two of the balls were slightly scaled and the inner ball race was scaled slightly at the point where the groove is cut to insert the balls. I do not think the scaling would have occured if the groove had not been there. The balls appear to have to run over the end of the groove when a big load is applied endways. The bearing was not very slack after the test and I think the results are surprisingly good. The deep groove D.W.F. is now running a similar test and will be reported on as soon as the test is completed. | ||
