B BUILDERS DEEP HOLE REAMING MACHINE The Builders Deep Hole Reaming Machine, a ruggedly built, skillfully engineered and carefully designed modern machine tool, having two spindles, reams long holes on a production basis with accuracy and efficiency. Because the Builders Deep Hole Reaming Machine is offered in two bed lengths, it becomes economically suited for all classes of deep hole reaming which fall within its range. A simple rest and special swivelling clamp support the work, allowing it to "float", but holding it firmly to prevent rotation. In two separate carriages, each of which is free to reciprocate in conjunction with, or independently of, the other, both a rest and a clamp are mounted. Power is transmitted from the motor, mounted below the head of the machine, through a vee belt drive to the main drive shaft to which each of the two spindles is geared. In addition, drive is effected through a second countershaft geared to the spindles, through idler gears which in turn engage the feed screws. By means of a rack and pinion, each of the carriages is reciprocated, drive being transmitted through bevel gears, worms and wheels, and clutches, from the feed screws. Pick-off gears enable a suitable range of speeds to be obtained. | ||
