While we were there a point came up in connection with the reverse drag link GB.1802/3 on the Bentley servo. We had asked them to jump up the ends from a .250 dia bar so as to avoid machining the centre portion. They could not do this from .250 bar, but could from .312 bar. A slight increase in the weight of this part would greatly reduce the cost. It is impossible to jump up a greater length of bar than 3 1/2 times its diameter. Hughes Johnson would welcome an opportunity to suggest small modifications to experimental stampings to make easier their manufacture.
