X7470 Whilst we believe that satisfactory drum dampers will do a great deal to eliminate brake squeaks, experiments have shewn us that more rigid drums are a definite move in the right direction. Unfortunately rigid drums bring up axle jaggers. We also find that by employing shoes of various flexibility at the heel we can much reduce brake squeaking. These however also tend to bring up axle jaggers. We feel that if the axle could be rigidly restrained from jaggering, the brake squeaking problem would be simplified.
