X 9910 Mr. Plath. [Struck through] c. Mr. [Struck through] c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY18/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 1. 5. 24. SERVO SPUR GEARS IN GEAR BOX. I wish to confirm that it is necessary that this pair of gears should be ground, as we shall not obtain the necessary absence of noise and vibration without this refinement. I would suggest that the Works tackle this grinding problem from the start, rather than we should involve ourselves in cost of tools etc. from the Gear Grinding Company, and then later pack up the job and do it ourselves. It would be better, in my opinion, to leave grinding to the Gear Grinding Company for the moment of something they are already doing, rather than take some of this away from them and then ask them to do some new work for which they have no new equipment available.
