re: GRAPHITE BRONZE CLUTCH FACINGS.

Reference my Pk/KC/DPB/10.11.37 (the final paragraph) you will find that I have fitted one of these graphite bronze clutch faces to 3½-litre chassis No.B.159.BL, the property of F.J.Dykes of Trinity College, Cambridge.

In my brief conversation with you on the occasion of my visit to W on Thursday last, I mentioned the fact that Professor Dykes had written to me saying that he was suffering from clutch jagger.

I thought you would be interested to hear that I have since heard from him to the effect that the jagger had disappeared with use. This naturally is as we would expect.

The reason for this memo is that I have no doubt in the course of the next week or so I shall be selling a secondhand 3½-litre to his son Paul, and I am wondering in view of the fact that there will be two 3½-litres in the family, whether it would not be advisable to fit another pair of these bronze clutch facings to this young man's car before he takes delivery.

If you think this advisable, perhaps you would be good enough to try and scrounge me another pair.

I feel certain that both of these clutches will be a source of reliable information for you.

If you can do this, I shall appreciate it.

Pk.KC.
