RE. EXPERIMENTAL COACHWORK.

Our replies to your EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/28.8.26 are as follows :-

(1) We had hoped to have this chassis finished by the end of this week, but we have taken the new front axle which we had prepared for it and fitted it on to 8-EX car which is the car Sales wish to try. We took the risk that we could afford to hold up 7-EX for another 8 or 10 days.
It has been queried whether we ought to send 7-EX chassis to Barkers fitted with the new front axle. We were rather going to forget about it and let it go, as we do not wish to have to work on the car after it has been re-painted. If there was any immediate hurry for 7-EX, of course, we will burst ourselves to get it returned to Barkers at the earliest moment. In the ordinary way we ought to have it completed in 14 days.

(2) The subframe for EAC-Vll will be despatched to Hoopers in 2 to 3 weeks.

(3) The subframe for India will be despatched to Hoopers in 3 to 4 weeks.

(4) We have the parts ready for 10-EX. We do not however wish to take the car away from R.{Sir Henry Royce} until we can replace it with another Phantom. We are expecting 12-EX car to be returned from France in about 2 weeks, we might then be able to let R.{Sir Henry Royce} have that car when we take away 10-EX. contd :-
