TO CJ. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} (Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) C. to BA. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Delivered to WW. during the Easter holiday. PHANTOM WEIGHT REDUCTION. Handwritten: X8420 X8770 / X8840 Naturally I shall be pleased if BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will help with this. To my mind it is very urgent, and in the following order:- (1) The front axle (waiting for Exp. construction.) (2) The front axis of the car generally. (3) Pushing the weight back, such as spare wheels, battery, etc. The spare wheels on the back is the extra protection we want for the petrol tank or our luggage grid, as on 7-EX. (4) Weight of the back axle. I did not think BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} had the time to spare but he would find a man to give eight hours per day to the subject in connection with E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} R.{Sir Henry Royce} Stamp: RECEIVED APR 12 1926 HB{C.
