K.S. PETROL GAUGES. F.{Mr Friese} 71792.

We understand that a number of petrol gauges are now being put through to customers' special orders.

We have had a great deal of experience experimentally on these gauges and we recommend that the procedure adopted should be as follows :-

The tank unit should be installed at the Works and the double air line fixed to the chassis. No attempt should be made to couple up this air line to either the dashboard unit or the tank unit, but the end should be taped over or otherwise blocked up.

When the car has had the body fitted and is about to leave the Coachbuilders, the K.S. representative in conjunction with our final Tester will unseal the air line and couple it up to the tank and dashboard unit at the same time making any necessary adjustment and observing whether the gauge reads correctly before the car is delivered.

The reason we feel most emphatically that the gauge should not be run on test here is because the air line will most certainly have to be disconnected when the head of the instrument is fitted to the body, and if this line is left disconnected, or is disconnected at the front end when the tank is full, trouble will certainly ensue due to humid air getting in this line.

We should like experimentally to have the opportunity of going over the first few installations while they are in the Test and making sure that everything is satisfactory with regard to the tank installation.
