43806 To C. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG5.10.27. CENTRAL LUBRICATION. So far we have not produced an experimental car fitted with the central lubrication. We have now however most of the instructions and anticipate that the modified Phantom (or Sports car) will have this scheme fitted. There is a possibility that we shall have a car running in about 2 months. It will be impossible to fit this scheme to existing cars; it entails a large number of small alterations to existing pieces. As soon as we know more about it, we shall endeavour, where possible, to get the parts modified so that we shall be able to fit the scheme at a later date. It is pretty certain however that production cars will not be fitted with this for at least 9 months. As regards the cost. It is certain that there will be an increase. It is difficult to say how much it will be, but as a very approximate guess I should say about £10. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
