20/25 HP. SHOCK DAMPERS.

With reference to memo. BY/HEB{H. Biraben}9/M.25.8.31.

The following parts were tested on a 20 HP. damper.

F.55944 LOP. Front - 7¼" Lever. F.58160 L.P. Valve Spring.
F.58162 " " Cap (.100" deep)

F.55965 LOP. Rear - 11.625" Lever. F.58160 L.P. Valve Spring
F.58161 " " Cap (.050" deep)

The depth from the top of the piston to the valve spring seat was set to .350".

With the cap depths correct to drawing, the ball pin loads were definitely high. The depths were therefore modified to give the correct loads.
