Smith & Sons (Motor Accessories) Ltd CRICKLEWOOD WORKS LONDON, N.W.2 Please quote our reference: S.1. SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE. 9th January, 1935. (Dict. 8th). Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ld., DERBY. Attention of Mr. H.E.West. Dear Sirs, As promised when I had the pleasure of meeting you at Derby yesterday, I have pursued with Mr. Dorer and Mr. Buckland the question of the new instruments with concave dials, and find that whilst the promise to deliver these immediately after Christmas was given you in all good faith, the difficulties which our Works' folk have had to overcome have been rather greater than they anticipated. I am afraid it will be necessary to claim your kind indulgence in this matter for approximately another ten to fourteen days. I would explain that the question of mileage displacement, in order to ensure satisfactory illumination, has proved rather a ticklish problem; Mr. Buckland informs me that he is hoping to complete his part of the instrument next week. The latter, by the way, is sending you this evening an instrument fitted with the latest mileage discs also non-interference magnets. As regards your recent reference to the Graham-Paige Speedometer, would it be troubling you to let us have a sample of that instrument? Thanking you in anticipation. Yours faithfully, For S.SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LD., C.W. Nichols SALES DIRECTOR. | ||
