Y4555 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} RE. 6.EX Car. X.3923 X.4555 X.4095. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M6.10.22. We note that you are fitting side carriers for the spare wheels similar to our scheme for the Goshawk N.sch.1249 which is of the trough type and highly suitable for the 40/50, where the wheel is well away from the wing and always in position. Our latest carrier for Goshawk in which the wheel stands on the running-board we feel is not quite so strong. We are anxious to get the trough carrier fitted to all 40/50s in future. We understand from Sales that you are fitting dipping head lights of the Barker design to this car. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} P.S. I fetched the Rover 8 from Tysely a week ago. A new engine, gear box and clutch have been fitted gratis - quite good. Thanks very much for all the help and valuable assistance in the matter.
