16th May, 1935.

Messrs. Solex Ltd.,
223-231, Marylebone Road,
London, N.W.1.

Your Ref: HCM/CM.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 14th inst., and in reply have to say that the tests on the 46 mm. downdraught and the 35 mm. twin carburetters have been suspended for a while, but with your permission we should like to keep the carburetters a little longer in case we resume the tests.

Regarding the Governor carburetter we regret to say that we have had no success with this, since we have been unable to find a setting where the throttle did not surge violently during the operation of the control. We are accordingly returning this to you under separate cover.

Thanking you for your co-operation and offer of assistance in this matter.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
