To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/MJ. 28.8.31. ORIGINAL HARMONIC DAMPER. Herewith calculations done at Cambridge on spring driven damper. The value of M is the effective polar moment of inertia of the shaft, that is the sum of the inertia on the nose plus 1/3 of the distributed inertia. The calculations are for any applied frequency, the natural frequency of the crankshaft being - Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Grylls. | ||
