| Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.10/KW. 21st May, 1935. J.O. Barclay, Esq., Royal Air Force Club, 128, Piccadilly, London, W.1. Dear Sir, We have been considering your suggestions to overcome the difficulty you find in operating the dipping headlights from the foot switch on your Bentley. The method of connecting the headlight dipper as on your old car and producing another control for the shock absorber control, although quite possible to fit, would involve some considerable delay whilst the new shock absorber control parts are being designed and produced. These parts would have to be specially made from solid pieces of metal, and in result the cost would be high. Your other suggestion of an additional dipping switch located at a convenient part of the body sounds quite satisfactory, and can be easily fitted by the bodybuilder. We suggest therefore that you arrange with the bodybuilder to fit the switch in a position which is most convenient to you. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
