Stock position of chassis parts for B.V. Wraith and Phantom III models.

Wraith and P.III cars which could be built from present stock, we have now completed our investigations on the B.V., but have not yet been able to complete the Wraith and P.III. We shall do this as soon as possible. Briefly, the position is as follows:- B.V. CHASSIS - With existing stocks of material we are not in a position to build any cars at all. We have no gearboxes, and no parts from which to make any, and no front or rear road springs. Apart from these items, there are no completed units such as Engines, Rear Axles or Steering columns, and only 18 chassis frames, but with a certain amount of manufacture, we could build 200 engines and 150 chassis. In some cases, we have over 250 sets of unfinished material, in other cases practically nothing. If the Company decide to build 100 cars, it means a lot of scrap. If the Company decide to build 300 cars, we shall require a lot more material. We have only dealt with the major items of the chassis; practically the whole of the stock of nuts, bolts, unions, banjos, springs, copper pipes and other small parts of any use to the Aero Engine section have already been requisitioned by them. We give herewith the position of the major items on the chassis. There is sufficient material completed in stock to build 5 chassis, with the following exceptions:- Gearbox (No stock). Axle Gears (3 short, plenty unfinished). Rear brake carrier plate (4 short, plenty unfinished). Wheel nuts (No stock). Front hubs (No stock). Front axle yokes (No stock). Lower Suspension Lever (No stock). Front springs (No stock). Rear springs (No stock). Torque arms (5 short, plenty unfinished). Front Shock Damper Case, (4 pairs short, plenty unfinished).
