To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X5430 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}6/M30.4.27. 20 HP. STEERING GEOMETRY. X.5430 X.5450 We send herewith Nsch. 2401 shewing a layout of the side steering tube etc., which will give us a definite improvement in the geometry. There is no alteration to the steering column except the length of the pendulum lever. The side steering tube is set in the plan view, but is otherwise unaltered except for the slight difference in the position of the locking piece at the rear end. The spring position and fixings are unaltered except for the lubrication of the rear pin. The ball end on the side steering lever on the axle has been reduced in height by using a tab washer and reducing the clearance between the nut and the axle. We should like to point out that this xt latter seems excessive on the Derby drg. # F.51820 - and may account for some of the poor geometry. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
