File Dear Sirs, We have pleasure to acknowledge receipt of your communication of the 11th instant and also drawing No. PD.304. We are proceeding at once with the necessary foundry equipment to produce 14 Pistons, 7 off each hand to this drawing, and also with castings from the existing tackle for 14 Pistons to drawing RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}522 with the original crown dimensions of .170". In the meantime we are pleased to inform you that castings are now being made from the corrected foundry equipment on which we unfortunately slipped up for the last type of raised crown, and we are pushing forward the necessary free replacements with all speed. Whilst writing we would take the opportunity to ask if Mr. Rowbotham has had an opportunity to consider the sample Oxide Surface Treatment for piston rings which we submitted just prior to the Motor Show, and whether any further information is desired on the subject.
