With further reference to road wheels, Col.Matthew of the Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd., Birmingham, has written that it has occurred to him that between our Repair Dept. and their (Dunlop Co's) Works there would appear to be a conflict of impression as to the condition of the wire wheels removed from the above-mentioned chassis and sent, at Col.Matthew's request, to the Dunlop Co's Offices at Birmingham and forwarded therefrom to the Dunlop Co's Works at Foleshill, Coventry.

Col.Matthew is of opinion that this conflict of impression might usefully be discussed at a Conference, either at our Works or at their Works at Foleshill.

Col.Matthew states that the Heads of Departments at the Works at Foleshill are under the impression that there are no loose spokes in the wheels and they attribute the condition of the enamel on the two rear wheels to mud and grit.

Your report leads me to think that you would probably agree with these remarks regarding the enamel.

The Dunlop Co. wish to know whether the official in charge of the matter here could make it convenient to visit their Works at Foleshill tomorrow (Tuesday), or whether we would prefer that the Dunlop Co's Inspector at Foleshill should visit our Works and, if so, upon what date.

It appears to me that if the Conference is held here, the wheels ought to be sent here.

I shall be glad to know your wishes in the matter.

Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}
