To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from EFC. ORIGINAL SECRET. EFC1/LG11.2.24. X.4383 - GOSHAWK DYNAMO FOR EAC. CHASSIS. In confirmation of our telegram answering yours. The cutting-in speed and maximum ampere out-put on the Goshawk machine are 660 R.P.M. and 9 amperes, and similar quantities for the standard Lucas machine are 710 R.P.M. and 11 amperes. These are both for the fully <strikethrough>hot</strikethrough> condition known by us as, engine<handwritten>^hot</handwritten> condition. We do not think that the Goshawk machine on a 40/50 HP. is a really satisfactory proposition, though no doubt it would be satisfactory in a majority of cases, the margin of out-put is insufficient to cover the extreme cases.
